Most people have such low standards for all these different areas in their life, they're willing to settle for mediocrity. If your standard is that you want to eat high quality foods, then you're not going for anything less than whole foods. The greatest joys of life are not basic survival, and they are not pragmatic and utilitarian. You can become very successful and wealthy by being highly pragmatic and utilitarian, but it won't be satisfy.
