The Origins of the Asian Women's Conference

At the founding of the Women's International Democratic Federation, all of the women who were part of this conference were either they were there or women from their organizations. The first sort of rubric or the overarching commitment that the conference that the WIDF had was anti-fascism. It makes perfect sense because World War II involved parts of Southeast Asia as active battlefronts. And these activists came and they said "We too are against fascism" That moment catapulted them to a movement that actually had the vision to take on the most revolutionary movements at this time.
