Aristotle's Concept of the Active Intellect
Ibn Arabi says that intellects have a limit at which they must come to a halt in so far as they are discursive. The idea of the active intellect exists in both European and Islamic thought particularly in the Middle Ages. Ibn Sina was accused of Platonism by two very loyal Aristotelians, Aquinas and Ibn Rusht because his doctrine of the agent intellect seemed to be so platonic it's actually an actual ontological being.
