Prosecutors Want Convictions
In the ideal world, prosecutors would be less concerned about convictions and more concerned with doing justice. But that's in the real world. Prosecutors are often politicians. And when there is a really high profile case, it is hard for prosecutors to be neutral or to try and be even handed. There're lots of examples where prosecutors om trumped uf charges, are overcharged and ended up things in falling apart on them.
