Valeril Legasov was a member of the emergency evacuation committee at Chernobyl in 1988. He recorded hours' worth of invaluable information and stories that would classify as state secrets. His courage ends with their retelling, and he cannot bring himself to publish his tapes. But this is not for publication yet because they will take both your and my head off, first mine and then yours, because nothing has changed so far.
