We all know that humans, myself included, are kind of clueless and bad at thinking through probabilities. Then on the other side, you have these deep-pocketed insurance companies with armies of actuaries or sophisticated algorithms. I could also imagine that as the so-called big data revolution gets bigger, it could radically shift advantages toward the industry away from customers.
