How to Vest Your 401K Balance
If you're going to be taking a new job, do not overlook figuring out what the vesting is on your plan so you don't walk away with a big oopsy. Some plans will have what's called a last day provision on profit sharing and so forth. And then the third type of vesting schedule is a graded vesting schedule. Essentially, it occurs in increments over several years. Most often it's a six year graded vest that you see most commonly.
