The Origins of Space Chemistry
Just after the Big Bang, the universe was made almost completely of hydrogen and helium. Now stars burn up hydrogen at super hot temperatures like a giant oven. This process creates lots of other elements, including oxygen. The most common molecule that forms from all this interstellar chemistry is H2O,. It's on our planets and comets and floating in clouds in interstellar space.
