Introduction

This chapter explores the challenges of livestock theft and the need for innovative solutions, including rectal scanning, muzzle scanning, geo locating animal tags, and DNA testing. It also presents a case of sheep theft in Central Victoria and highlights the difficulties farmers face in accurately counting their livestock.
