Next level up in terms of silica content are cinder cones. These volcanoes form as a result of fairly mapic to somewhat intermediate, so like middling range in terms ofsilica content. Next level up then are your composite volcanoes, or, as i said, strata volcanoes. Now these are tall, conical mountains, more like what you typically think about as the stereor typical volcano.
