Fashio - The Axe Encased in a Bund of Rods

In 1914, a group of left-wing nationalists who wanted Italy to enter the First World War called themselves the Fashio Revolutzio Nario Dazzione Interventista. On March 23, 1919, at a meeting in Milan's Piazza Sansepulcro of the Fashi Italiani de Combatimento - formed by Benito Mussolini. Now, Fashio means league, union, or fraternity from the Latin fashis, meaning an axe encased in a bundle of rods.
