The Peter Attia Drive

CHAPTER

What Causes Lepton Resistance?

There's some evidence from some groups that it might be due to uric acid. You can kind of induce a lepton resistance state by, i think, injecting uric acid and brains animals. The inflammation the hypothalmus is thought to be the driver for lepton resistance. These are genetically manipulated mice where we've removed the gean or knocked out the gean for fructocines. And so what happens is, these animals cannot metabolize fructos through this atipedipletion pathway.
