We say sec or second all the time in English to mean a short amount of time. Another phrase that you can say is, could I steal that for a moment? As a language learner myself, I don't want to be direct when asking a question in my non-native language. So instead of bluntly asking a question, it's always good to add a phrase like, really quick or do you mind?"
