The RDA, if we were to equate to pounds, is 0.36 grams per pound of body weight. Americans are like 0.42 or something. Women in particular are very close to the absolute minimum. As a child, protein requirements for in the first two years are 2.2 grams per kg. The highest level that we recommend in the range is 2.5.
