Preventing Type One Is a Hard Thing, but I'm Very Optimistic
The disease is multigenic, and we're not quite close to even curing single genetic diseases as yet. Prevention involves education for type two, probably not so much for type one. I'm saddened when i hear almost weekly or monthly here in the boston area, of a family that contacts me because their young child has tied one. So i'm very hopeful about the future.
