I think overarching the whole thing is this idea that anything from the past is of course silly and outdated. And it's like so few generations from the past have thought that way about the past, right? One of the things I love about studying the ancient past is that people in the ancient past actually took the past, their own past very seriously. Much, they had much more respect for it than we do for ours.
