The forge of the Smith was lit by a deep blazing red fire. The long piece of iron resting on top of the poles had almost taken on that red color itself. He hammered the glowing metal with surprisingly gentle, controlled strokes. This blade was not for some ham-fisted warrior or even a feared chieftain's grave. It was for a swordsman of exceptional skill and an artist with a weapon.
