The Tree and the Risom

Rizomes are horizontally distributed plants that don't have a given centre. So an example would be the tuber of ginger plants. Ginger is a risematic rather than a arboreal, boreal structure. Rit so risoms are decentralized structures that are distributed. They are networks, they are webs. There is no core point that dominates,. as uppose to trees, which, for them, grow up and down. And they are characterized by the root system. The key word in what you said, eli, for me, is decentralization and distribution. I think that risom is really interesting because it gives us a way of thinking about a horizontal and imminent distribution
