The Tonic, the Tonic of the Scale Degrees

The tonic is home, the starting point and the destination. It's creator and a might dare to say, also destroyer or consumer. The tonic creates the knots of the scale before they dance and sing around it and eventually resolve back into it. Only on cosmic scales each note lasts billions of years. Maybe this is what we imitate with tonal music.
