The Obsession With Getting Everything Just Right
I've heard comedy writers sometimes be a bit sniffy about drama writing in the past. When something doesn't land in a comedy, you are acutely and often painfully aware of it. I think that attention to word order and precise words is ironic because there's also room for improvisation in the show. So often we're getting it precisely on script. Jesse seems unassuming, but he might be slightly underestimating his ambition. Or even putting aside the business side of it, I just would hate to do that and it would feel like such a responsibility. And I just think I'd get the tone wrong.
