The Shadow
The original version of the story simply called the shadow, makes it very obvious that it was written otime ago. Since then, people have tried to analyze it in a variety of ways. Is it about writing relationships, or about figuring out what you are versus what society says you should be? In the end, the shadow, the entity the world embraces, lives only because the true self dies. And it's all these layers that make the story interesting beyond face value.
