The most interesting argument i encountered was that if you pin educational disparities on self esteem, that sort shifts the blame elsewhere. So what was the problem that was needing to be solved? Was it educational outcome differences? It was. If it was actually a really vicious, complicated problem having to do with everything from disparities and school funding to family structure, t all the other stuff we now know causes those disparities,. That doesn't really fit in a catch phrase. And it would, in all likelihood, cost a lot of money to fully solve.
