In the ethical debate, consequentialism is a normative theory. It holds that action is only right or wrong in virtue of bringing about better consequences. The deontologist believes there are certain actions that might be wrong even if they're good for society. But i think when the deontologist caves in in the face of massive consequences, he has revealed something about his position, says David Cameron.
