The Law and the Prophets Are a Body of Revelation
The law and the prophets refer to the entirety of the old testament scriptures. Christ fulfils the prophetic intent and content of the law, realizing what the law itself did not yet achieve. The written law is a creation, but even its smallest elements have the same sort of continuance as heaven and earth themselves. Note the parallels between heaven and earth and the law in places such as psalm 19.
