The Early Church's Asceticism

The Cappadocian asceticism was not the original kind of early church asceticism. The more early church focused on epistemological purification rather than, let's say, purification from demons that are infesting your body in some literal way. You don't find a lot of traces of the kind of evagrion mysticism they knew about. But you might find it again, you know, I confess my stupidity.
