The First Time We've Ever Seen an Image of a Black Hole
Shep Dolleman unveils the first picture ever taken of a black hole. It looks like a bright fiery glowing blob with a dark circle in the center, kind of like a fancy artisanal space donut. We see a shadow and the light bending around this darkness. The event horizon is an empty region of space at which you would have to travel faster than the speed of light to escape.
