The Musicality of Voice

I'm curious mostly about the musicality of your writing. Are you hearing it as you're writing it? Yes. It's not a sound I can reproduce by reading it out loud. So when I'm reading aloud, I'm often hearing something that is different from what I'm actually aiming for. And so it's probably, um, it's probably a musical kind of ear. And I am writing to that ear.
