The Saintly Ideal Is Nihilistic

The saint has the most powerful will in the pursuit of nothingness. Most powerfully driven towards nothingness, indicates he is the most botched type of soul. The need to be free from this torture is what drives his philosophy. These are the people whom we come to know as saints. They then offer us the image of man who sets himself above the world and thus repudiates the world. But again, the higher type did not achieve elevation through the intellect. And so basically, this is niche's explanation of how that pessimism of strength gave rise to the pessimism of weakness that he criticizes.
