The Importance of Complete Neurovascular Imaging for ED-TIA Encounters
The authors observed a 90-day stroke incidence of 4.4% in patients with complete neurovascular imaging versus 7%. After adjusting for patient characteristics and hospital characteristics, the association was more convincing. The study does not include data on treatments based on imaging information. A direction for a future study would be to investigate the link between diagnostic imaging in patients with TIA treatmentsbased on imaging findings and stroke outcome.
