You can imagine the way I've often seen it done is that the old Carl Sagan thing where you imagine like something going through a MRI or something. Or you can imagine a four dimensional object, right? Right. You'd have to imagine that like the entire universe is kind of like a slice of something bigger and that a four dimensional being kind of peering into our universe would sort of see our full three-dimensional extent. Like they'd be able to see all your internal organs and stuff at the same time as the outside of your body and everything around you because they're just looking down on you in this three dimensional slice. There's an ongoing debate in the philosophy of math about whether
In this episode we explore the weirdness and wonder of Math Without Numbers with mathematician Milo Beckman who wrote a book about the math behind multiple infinities, strange topologies, and extra dimensions, all without using numbers to explain some of the most fascinating and complex ideas that usually only make sense when scribbled in strange notations on a blackboard.
