Solo scriptur is the notion that only faith can justify us. But in fact, if you realize that scripture is nowhere to be found as a source of authority, then solo scriptur does not teach what scripture teaches. The magisterium is protected by the spirit so that it only teaches infallible truth and faith and morals when it is teaching in a definitive way. Inspiration means dual authorship; mathew mark, luke and john aren't stenographers or amanuensis but full writers.
