Prescription of Oxygen Therapy for COPD
A target of 88 to 92 seems pretty sensible suggestion given the physiology and pathophysiology that we've just heard about now in hospital. My personal delivery device of choice for these patients is going to be a venturi mask where you know reliably the precise fraction of inspired oxygen or the FiO2 that that patient is receiving. You might well need to change them on to nasal can while they're eating drinking in the ED and also whilst they receive those air driven neps.
