i love Sherlock Holmes but i often struggle to understand what's actually happening in a Sherlock Holmes story because it's dense and so detailed. Try to find something in a plain modern style like harry potter or Jane Austen Charles Dickens. Consider buying the sort of book that is quite easy to read like a page turner. You can fly through them quite quickly which is one of your aims get as much English into your head as possible.
