There's a question about whether, if you're removing the fore skin, you're removing part of the whole body. And this is the concept that we find, i think, reflected in the idea of bodily integrity. We have all kinds of intuitions floating about about different procedures and whether theyre violations of bodily integrity or not. Male circumcision as one ample female genital cutting as another. Intersex surgery is another. But then much more mundane interventions like ear piercing, or some kinds of common cosmetic surgeries that parents might authorize on their children such as having protruding ears pinned back.
