A case where you had to wait five seconds for your arrow to hit the target is going to take longer for you to learn than a case where you only had to wait half a second. Two minutes seems way, way worse than 20 seconds. And then like an hour, you know, you might be almost impossible for most people. I think this is why coaches are so important for learning sports because it's just going to take too long to get feedback of whether what you're doing is working.
