The cult leader used his religious beliefs as a way to get people to take political action. He would say, you know, jesus was the first communist, sure. And he had no calm, obviously, about manipulating in a religious way because it was for this higher good. But then at the same time you have these people who are like, i never see my daughter any more. There was that classic cult thing of isolating people fro the rest of the rom and so those family members are were ot of the rumblings first startt ad.
