In todayās episode, we talk about the difference between American and Australian business English.
Yes, there is a stark difference between the two, as business English is influenced by culture ā culture bleed, right, thatās a good word for that!. This is includes difference in jargon, slang terms, expressions, and other stuff.
One interesting example here is the use of āsirā. In the American culture, when youāre a police officer, or a person of authority, and you are to address a local citizen, youād notice the use of sir/maāam back and forth. Whereas here in Australia, youāll hear both parties call each other āmateā.
