The Pseudo Analogue of SLS

In SLS you don't really need supports at all. The thermal stresses going on are so intense that this thing is just moving around a lot more than like a polymer part would move. So, generally, most metal based powder processes have argon or nitrogen gas that's introduced and then actually pushed across the build plate. If you're ever looking in the metal additive system usually you can kind of see like a plume of smoke and debris kind of getting pushed into the back or the side of the machine out of the way.
