The Nature of Consciousness

This topic seems to have featured at the very beginning of the Charvaka-sutra. A human being is a body qualified by consciousness, thinking is from the body alone. The whole person, including the power of thought, is made from the four elements. Brahasvati compares the emergence of consciousness from matter to the capacity to intoxicate.
