Can the Females Adjust the Timing of Hatching?

The parents need to collect about ten thousand caterpillars in that two weeks period. They can adjust the timing of hatching, either by delaying incubation or not starting to incubate as soon as they've finished laying their clutch. And we find they actually do that in response to the daily temperature. If it's a very warm day, and theyre probably cind of realizing that the caterpillar peak is going to come sooner. Whereas if it gets cold, they'll sort of stay off more, trying to delay that hatch.
