The Importance of Science Fiction

"It's good that we have in this conversation, and that there are people who feel strongly about bringing certain things to light," he says. "We should be able to explore these ideas in a multifaceted way." The term robot grew out of entertainment; it was a play. And so it entered the popular lexicon because it was part of our arts and culture. It has since influenced the direction of science in this area.
