The pain of hell is an eternal restlessness. Having turned our back to him, we end up having the Pascal didn't call it a God shape vacuum. It can't be filled by any created thing, but only by God himself. We've got the eternal longing and the groping with no hope of finding satisfaction because we've turned our back on the one who home can satisfy.
