Machine Learning Algorithms and Intimacy
Giddens suggests that machine learning algorithms are the opposite of what we understand about intimate relationships now and historically. He says intimacy is coming to be redefined increasingly relationship engineering from one angle it's a much broader and more fluid set of practices of intimacy. But on the flip side, Giddens argues intimate relationship is becoming more about plasticity rather than permanence. And it's about recommendations instead of recruitment between people.
