Is There a Time Constant?
In general, infants have shorter RC Time Constance compared with adults. It takes less time for an infant to empty their lungs compared to an adult. Respiratory resistance is the change in pressure needed to generate a unit of flow in the system. The time constant which some people refer to as tau equals the resistance times the compliance.
