The Confusion of Reported Phenomena

The Istanbul Observatory, founded in 1579, was demolished not long after its founding. Saale mentions that there's a 1630 mention of observers and students glimpsing the stars in the daytime from the bottom of a very deep well in Klemra Portugal. And then we have an individual by the name of Urdhard Weigal, a court mathematician to Duke Wilhelm IV of Bavaria. So I think it could be the case where you're dealing with different reported phenomena becoming confused with each other.
