The Separation of Shochu and TikTok

The Chinese government will likely firmly oppose any kind of divestiture from ByteDance of its subsidiary, TikTok. That was going to make Shochu's days much, much more difficult since TikTok has been in negotiations with CFIUS and US administration officials. A bipartisan piece of legislation known as the Restrict Act that was introduced in the Senate would give the authority of the Commerce Secretary for national security-related action.
