The Case of the Adult Duck

Sheriff Zeke Owens, Detective Megan and Deputy Dewey face a horde of Crimson beasts outside the Kepler sheriff's station. Pigeon is sitting on the floor wrapped in a thick wool blanket with tears running down her cheeks. Sheriff Zee says he knows what it feels like to feel guilty for something you did not mean to do. He promises that one day she will be able to laugh at a joke and smile again.
