Introduction
Some 8,500 years ago, the shores of the Aegean Sea were a good place to be a farmer. Farmsteads and whole villages would join encampments of Mesolithic hunter-gatherers who lived near rivers and lakes. With a coming millennia, a vast new region would open up to the Neolithic Revolution. Fields of grain and pasture for livestock would cut into primeval forests of Oak and Beach.
