Madame Kalashnikov and the Soviet Union
Madame Kalashnikov was the prosecutor for the whole of the west of the Soviet Union. She called us in to a courtroom after about two weeks and said we were working too slowly. Godfrey Oakley stood up and said through an interpreter, Madame, this is a government arrangement. We were told we had six weeks, and if we don't have six weeks, I shall have to get in touch with my government. Don't know, she never came back on that point and we had our full six weeks.
