In addition to eulacies we absolutely have to throw in marcelle prusz in search of lost time. i love that opening because there is a sense of pacing and leading it's almost like hypnosis now in the 20th century in literature written in english We also get a really strong sense of defiance in the tone of voice from our narrators.
